Why won't my boyfriend stop saying it when he knows it winds me up? Do I look like noel fielding? (link fixed)?
I love my boyfriend to bits and things are going great with him so this is going to sound incredibly petty but it’s a recurrent arguement between us.

He keeps saying I look like Noel Fielding from the mighty boosh, a few people have said it before aswell and it does my head in. I say to him that he’s saying I look like a man but he says noel fielding looks like a woman so he’s not. He calls me pretty and things but if he says I look like noel fielding how can he really think i’m pretty? i’ve told him I don’t like him saying it and tried to stop him but he just laughs it off.

Is he not saying I look like a man? How do I get through to him how much it upsets me/

No. The only time Comics have really worked and NOT been a young peoples media is when they have been dirty or otherwise bawdy. Thus in two classic comic strip sequences (one of which ended when the censors caught on) Wimpy noodled with the Sea Hag who was offering him hamburgers for it and Krazy Kat got REALLY intoxicated on Tiger Nip Tea. In RELATIVE terms the only reason the Punisher has been as successful as he is is because they have been able to push them in their more fantasy orientated books. And guess which issues of Spider-man sell best? The fantasy ones. When he starts carrying a gun you get some grumpy old adults angry and some of them stop letting their kids buy them and some of them stop buying them for themselves. Really, the answer is no, no and no.

Grounded until 2011 – opinions?
-December, I disobeyed my parents and the law – I went to a club and drank alcohol – I am 16 and 18 is the legal age where I am situated
-That same night my friend and I were raped – you may see that as a lesson or something

This has been the hardest two months of my life. I have now developped a condition where it is impossible for me to have sex, or even a vaginal exam – vaginismus – believed to have been caused by the event. I can also safely say that I won’t and am too scared to drink. I won’t be for a longggg time. I have just started the process of reporting the boys yesterday and there is a lot of fear that comes with that as well.

My parents have grounded me until 2011 for disobeying them, however my parents and I have never been on good terms. I find myself fighting with them on a constant basis and even though I know they are trying to help me, they are not easy to talk to about everything.

They have taken away all means of communication on the internet, have removed all portable phones in the house, and I am not allowed to go anywhere or have anyone over until 2011.

I’m so scared and I’m crying every night about everything that’s happened. I feel like I need my friends right now to help support me or atleast distract me from this situation – friends of mine who don’t go to my school – and even if they did, friendship that could be spent outside of an educational environment in which I am already suffering in thanks to the stress of the past 2 months.

I know my parents don’t want to lift the grounding, it’s part of their whole keeping the parental control – once they implement something they can’t lift it so that they can make sure I know that they are in control

I guess I am just wondering do you think that in this case, that lifting the grounding would be better for me? I feel like it would be but I guess that’s what I would be conditioned to think in my position of the situation. I know deep in my heart that my parents have nothing to worry about anymore when it comes to my reckless teenage acts – all I really want is to be able to spend time with my friends and return to some part of the normalcy in my life that I once had before this event.

I would like your opinions, on whether you agree with me or my parents or both – and how you would approach this situation if you were in my position

Tell them how scared and upset you are and that waht you are going through is as good as a lesson and punishment as possible. Tell them you know what you did is wrong explain to them all your feelings….you need to give a really emotional speech. Explain to them you need your friends or that youi would like to join some type of group onnline to get you through this. As hard as it is for them it is even harder for you.

Wow you defiantly had a horrible experience and learned your lesson about underage drinking but i do think the grounding till 2011 is a harsh and excessive
They might be very worried about you going out again after your last experience and want to keep you safe from any threat

i suggest talking to them about everything that’s happened and tell them you realize who is in charge and accept that you shouldn’t have disobeyed them
It was more the fault and illegal of the person serving you drinks for not checking your age or stopping you drinking

Even if this is a way to keep you safe it is too much, a few weeks is understandable, even a month or two but not a year

My son last saw his biological dad on his second birthday. He is now 9 1/2. Since that time, I have had this guys wages attached so that some of the time he has paid child support. It really depends on the law in your jurisdiction, but most states provide that if a parent has had no contact with a child for a proscribed period of time (1 year in Ohio), then the parent has abandoned the child.

And by no contact, I mean that his father has not sent him a birthday/holiday card, made a single phone call, stopped by, or anything. Even if he has not had direct contact with the child, if he made the attempt and it was blocked by you, this is sufficient to restart the abandonment period.

All in all, a court is going to look at what is in the best interests of the child. In most cases, a court will find that it is in the best interests of the child to have a relationship with both biological parents. The only way a court will deny a parent his or her right to visitation is if you can show that it will be physically, mentally, or emotionally detrimental to the child in a very serious way. Contrary to popular belief, visitation is for the benefit of the child, not for the benefit of the parent.

Wrong. He is the father. Granted an absentee one, but the father nevertheless. He deserves the opportunity to be one. It should come through him, and not his girlfriend., however. She shouldn’t be involved. He has to take the initiative.

For your son’s sake, I’d tell her you are open, but only if he wants it and requests as such alone, not with her. One day your son may not like you, if he finds out his real father wanted to see him, and you denied it.

That doesn’t mean you have to turn your back and not be his mother Be sure it’s safe, et al, and you’ll want to put visitation in a legal framework for all involved.
